Kate McCloskey joined our team in August 2022 as a Virtual Paraplanner. While Kate still assists Matthew with client meeting follow-up and financial planning process creation, her role has evolved, and she is now serving her own clients as a financial advisor. Kate is meticulously focused on helping clients develop financial plans and habits that will enable them to meet their current and future goals by controlling that which is in their control-behavior and decision making. She is passionate about providing excellent customer service and loves coming to work at Emerald each day!
Kate is a career changer with 7 years of prior experience in higher education fundraising and since her transition into the financial services industry in 2020 she has spent her time learning, pursuing registrations and gaining experience by supporting established financial advisors. Kate completed her Series 66 and has been an Investment Advisor Representative since 2022.
Kate studied at Liberty University and holds a B.S. in Sport Management with a Minor in Business, as well as an M.S. in Sport Administration.

Personal Background: Kate currently resides in Baton Rouge, LA (Geaux Tigers!) with her husband, Gerald and son, Mac. She is a proud native of Syracuse, NY (Go Orange!) and enjoys traveling, cheering on the Tigers/Orange/Bills, spending time with friends and family, and diving into a good book!
